Alcohol

Over half (58%) of pupils in S4 surveyed reportedly had never had 'a proper alcoholic drink' (i.e. more than just a sip of alcohol). Among those who had ever had a proper alcoholic drink, one third (33%) said they had never been drunk while one in ten pupils (11%) would reportedly get drunk more than once per week. 

Most (52%) pupils drank their alcohol at home and 71% of pupils said their parents/caregivers allowed them to drink at home. One third (30%) of pupils said their parents/caregivers bought them alcohol.
