Data was only available for Glasgow, North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire from the Glasgow City Region for the financial difficulties question in the Scottish Household Survey. Compared to other local authority areas in the Glasgow City Region in 2023, Glasgow had a higher proportion of children living in households that reported experiencing financial difficulties (25.7%) than North Lanarkshire (12.6%), South Lanarkshire (7.2%), or East Dunbartonshire (7.0%). Glasgow’s figure was also more than double the Scottish average of 12.2%.

Definition of dependent children in the Scottish Household Survey is children aged 0-15 years and children of 16-18 years who are in full time education.
