Notes on data
Scottish Schools Adolescent Lifestyle and Substance Use Survey (SALSUS)
The SALSUS survey collects information on SDQ scores. This Scotland wide survey of S2 and S4 pupils is carried out in secondary schools and collects information using confidential paper questionnaires. Every 4 years the survey is designed so that it can be analysed at a local authority level. For more details on the design of the survey, and for further results, please refer to the SALSUS website.
Glasgow City Schools Health and Wellbeing Survey 2010
The information in this section on self-esteem, bullying and offensive behaviour, aspirations and worries was obtained from the Glasgow City Schools Health and Wellbeing Survey 2010. As this survey was only carried out in Glasgow it was not possible to compare the results with other areas in Scotland.
In 2010 this survey was carried out across 30 schools in the Glasgow City area. Pupils in S1-S4 were asked to complete a confidential questionnaire asking questions about their health behaviours, personal and social circumstances and general health. 8,282 pupils participated in this survey. For more details on the design of the survey, for further results and for reports on the Glasgow City CHP sectors please follow the link above.
