Model-based ILO unemployment rates, population aged 16 and over, Glasgow City Region local authorities, April 2004-March 2022
The model-based ILO unemployment rates rose steeply across all the local authorities in the Glasgow City Region from 2008. Since 2012/13, however, the unemployment rates have declined in all local authorities. In 2021/22, the rate in Glasgow had dropped to 4.4%, while the Scottish rate was 3.4% – lower than the GB rate of 4.1%.

These unemployment estimates are model-based and subject to sampling variability. The unemployment rate shown is the unemployment count as a percentage of the economically-active population aged 16+.
The unemployment count included all people aged 16+ without a job who were available to start work in the two weeks following their interview and who had either looked for work in the four weeks prior to interview or were waiting to start a job they had already obtained.
