More than half of respondents to the Glasgow Household Survey in 2012 felt part of the community they lived in and proud of their local area (65%). Even more people felt proud of the city of Glasgow as a whole (85%).

The Glasgow Household Survey is commissioned by Glasgow City Council and measures citizens' usage and satisfaction in a number of key services provided by the Council and Arms Length External Organisations (ALEOs). The information gathered is used to inform service and strategy development. In 2012, the market research company Ipsos MORI interviewed a representative quota sample of 1,015 Glasgow residents (aged 16 and over) between 15 September and 4 December 2012. All interviews were conducted face-to-face in residents' homes using Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI).
