Population projections for the four largest Scottish cities, 2018 - 2043
Scot cities projs 2018 2043
National Records of Scotland projections predict that the populations of three out of four of Scotland's largest cities will rise over the next 25 years with Dundee being the exception with a projected slight loss of population. Edinburgh is predicted to have the the largest proportionate rise in population (of 13%), while Glasgow's population is predicted to rise by 6%; a rise equating to an increase in the actual population of nearly 36,000.

Notes

These projections are forecasts based on a range of assumptions about underlying demographics and therefore should be considered with caution. The projections shown are the principal projections rather than variant projections that NRS also produces.
