Housing type
This page looks at what kinds of dwelling – detatched or semi-detached, terraced or flats – are most common in Glasgow and in the different neighbourhoods within the city.
Approximately 73% of dwellings in Glasgow are flats. Terraced dwellings account for 12% of dwellings with semi-detached dwellings making up 11%. The remainder are made up of detached dwellings and a small number of 'unknown' properties.
This chart looks as types of housing in each of the 56 neighbourhoods in Glasgow. The chart is arranged by how much of the housing stock in each neighbourhood consists of flats, as these constitute the overwhelming majority of dwellings in the city. Robroyston and Millerston (in the north-east of the city) is made up of mostly detached and semi-detached properties, while at the other end of the spectrum, the neighbourhoods in the city centre and west end almost entirely consist of flats.
