Trends in school-leaver destinations for Glasgow
Over the last thirteen years, the proportion of school leavers from Glasgow’s publicly funded secondary schools entering positive destinations has increased. The percentage of school leavers unemployed and seeking employment decreased from 16% in 2009/10 to 5% in 2022/23. The percentage in Higher Education peaked in 2019/20 at 40% before decreasing slightly to 38% in 2022/23. The proportion of school leavers going onto employment is around one in four throughout the time-period.
