In this graph the pay of the the lowest paid 20% of residents in full-time employment in a local authority is compared to that of the highest paid 20% of residents in full-time employment. In most local authorities, the pay of the highest paid 20% of residents is approximately double the level of pay among the lowest paid 20%. Despite having no data for the upper 20% pay group, the pay of the lowest paid 20% in East Dunbartonshire and East Rewnfrewshire is notably higher than in other local authorities.

Residents of East Renfrewshire and East Dunbartonshire have the highest average pay in the Glasgow City Region. Levels of pay in the other local authorities in the region are close to the Scottish average.

These pay estimates come from the ONS' Annual survey of hours and earnings and are based on gross annual pay for full-time employees before income tax and national insurance.
