Adult smoking trends across the Glasgow City Region
Just over a fifth (21%) of adults in Glasgow were regular smokers in 2018, the highest proportion within the Glasgow City Region (GCR). The proportion of smokers reduced in all the GCR local authorities and in Scotland overall between 2012 and 2018.

In 2018, slightly more men were regular smokers in Glasgow (23%) than women (20%). Men were more likely to be smokers than women in all other Glasgow City Region local authorities except for East Dunbartonshire (8% for females compared to 7% for males), which all had the lowest adult smoking rates across the region.
