Neighbourhood safety in selected Scottish cities

socialcap safety SCOT 2020The chart presents estimates of the percentage of adults who feel either "very safe" or "fairly safe" walking alone in their neighbourhood at night for selected Scottish cities and Scotland as a whole.

Glasgow scored the lowest of the four cities with only 75% feeling safe walking in their area at night.

Socialcap rating SCOT 2020This chart shows the breakdown of adults rating their neighbourhood as a good place to live among selected Scottish cities and Scotland as a whole, as well as showing a breakdown of Glasgow into the 20% most deprived and the rest of the city. Glasgow as a whole has a slightly lower percentage of adults (92%) rating their neighbourhood as a good place to live, compared to Aberdeen and Edinburgh. The percentage rating their neighbourhood as a good place to live was lower in the 20% most deprived neighbourhoods of Glasgow (86%).
