Neighbourhood safety in selected Scottish cities

The chart presents the percentage of adults who feel either "very safe" or "fairly safe" when walking alone in their neighbourhood at night for selected Scottish cities and Scotland as a whole.

Dundee scored the lowest of the four cities with 72% of adults feeling safe walking alone in their area at night, followed by Glasgow with 78% feeling safe.

Neighbourhood rating in Scottish cities

This chart shows the percentage of adults rating their neighbourhood as a good place to live for selected Scottish cities and Scotland as a whole, as well as showing a breakdown of Glasgow into the 20% most deprived and the rest of the city. Glasgow as a whole has a slightly lower percentage of adults (92%) rating their neighbourhood as a good place to live, compared to Aberdeen and Edinburgh (both 95%). The percentage rating their neighbourhood as a good place to live was lower in the 20% most deprived neighbourhoods of Glasgow (88% compared to 96% in the rest of the city).
