Learning overview
Education is a broad concept with multiple dimensions and is not simple to define or summarise. A good education is an important foundation in life; facilitating future employment and providing access to a fulfilling adult life. Education is a resource for life that, apart from providing qualifications, can have a much broader beneficial impact on health and well-being in terms of developing values, emotional intelligence, self-esteem and social functioning skills.

The data on the Understanding Glasgow website comes from a variety of administrative sources and surveys, and the frequency of updates to these sources varies. The graphs and text on each page should indicate the period to which an indicator refers. In some cases, where more recently published data is not available, we still use older published sources, such as the 2011 Census.
